Hill Walking

Fishing
The local club, Sliabh Liag Angling Association, organises the fishing for salmon and sea trout on the Glen Fishery. The main river of the Glen Fishery is the Glen river. It rises in the northern end of the Sliabh Liag peninsula at the source of Lake Lughraman and winds southward through scenic moorland valleys flowing through the village of Carrick and on to "Ceim an Easa" or the Salmon Leap, the high point for all anglers, before entering Donegal Bay at Teelin estuary. Sea Angling
Sea angling is a very popular activity in Donegal. There are almost a dozen sea angling festivals during the season open to visiting anglers as well as unlimited opportunities for shore angling. Deep sea fishing from charter boats is available at a number of locations. Donegal offers some of the best Deep Sea Angling in Ireland.

Oideas Gael also offers week long and weekend Irish language courses for adults at all learning levels. The activities include classes and evening cultural activities in song, dance and poetry.

Scuba Diving / Boat Trips
There are many spectacular dive sites within a short distance of Carrick and Teelin. There are sea caves, gullies, pinnacles and reefs with all sorts of sea life. Dive suits can be found for all levels of experience. Diving equipment can be hired with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice.

International Appalachian Trail
On October 7, 2010 during the Adventure Travel World Summit in Aviemore, Scotland, the International Appalachian Trail welcomed nine new European chapters to the IAT, including Ireland. Where better to identify Appalachian Landfall on the island of Ireland than at the majestic cliffs of Slieve League (Sliabh Liag) in the southwest of County Donegal?
